The Guardian(1997)

The Guardian follows Ray Angelotti, a legendary cat burglar and sixth-degree Kenpo Karate black belt, as he emerges from prison transformed by purpose. Haunted by his sister Tess's murder, Ray believes he can save her tormented soul in the afterlife by rescuing troubled people on earth from evil's grasp. Blending martial arts action with supernatural redemption, the film explores whether a criminal past can be redeemed through righteous deeds. Ray's quest becomes personal and spiritual as he battles both external threats and inner demons, driven by guilt and the hope that saving others might grant his sister peace beyond death.
