Das Kindermädchen - Mission Italien is a German film following Henni, an enthusiastic nanny who arrives in sunny Apulia to work for a German expat family on their struggling olive farm. Rosa and Benno Westphal hired her to supervise their two teenagers: Luisa, a confident straight-A student, and Julian, a musically gifted but sensitive boy. Yet Henni quickly senses something is amiss. The family's finances are clearly strained, and the children hardly seem to need a governess. When Henni witnesses Rosa making a secret doctor's visit, she begins to suspect there's more to this assignment than she was told. As Henni settles into life on the Italian farm, she uncovers the family's hidden troubles and must decide how far she'll go to help them.
