Landlady and Tenant(1966)

Landlady and Tenant is a Hong Kong comedy that follows Sau-chen, a young woman caught between her class-conscious parents and her love for tenant Wong Chun-ching. When Sau-chen takes work at a pharmacy expo to pay her boyfriend's mother's medical bills, she attracts the unwanted advances of her boss, Chin Hoi-ngan, who schemes to make her his concubine. Chin fabricates a fake son and proposes marriage with a generous dowry, but the plan unravels when Wong is enlisted to impersonate the fictional heir. As the deception comes to light, Sau-chen's parents and their tenants intervene in a chaotic confrontation. The ensuing chaos ultimately brings the family together, and her parents finally bless the couple's relationship, choosing love over social standing.
