The March of Time(1930)

The March of Time is an unfinished pre-Code musical film that showcases three generations of performance talent. The film features established stage and vaudeville performers alongside contemporary acts and rising stars of the era. Though incomplete, several musical sequences from the production were repurposed in later films, including Broadway to Hollywood, Nertsery Rhymes, and Roast-Beef and Movies in the early 1930s. One notable segment, "The Lock Step," was eventually incorporated into the 1994 retrospective That's Entertainment! III. The film offers a snapshot of American entertainment during a transitional period in cinema history, capturing the shift from vaudeville to Hollywood stardom.
