Harkis is a war drama set during the Algerian War of Independence (1954–1962). The film follows Salah and Kaddour, two impoverished young Algerian men who enlist in the French Army as Harkis—local soldiers serving French forces. Under the command of Lieutenant Pascal, they navigate the brutal realities of conflict. As independence approaches, their fate becomes uncertain. Pascal fights his superiors to evacuate his entire platoon to France, knowing that those left behind face persecution. The film examines loyalty, sacrifice, and the impossible choices facing soldiers caught between two worlds during a pivotal moment in colonial history.
