
The Flower Street(1950)
The Flower Street is a Chinese drama set in a vibrant marketplace district where singers and street performers make their living. Zhaogou and his wife Bai Lanhua work as entertainers at the House of Delight, raising their daughter Daping in this colorful community. When war forces the family to flee, Zhaogou becomes separated from his wife and child. Daping and her mother are left to survive on their own, wandering the streets and singing for survival as they navigate the chaos of displacement. After enduring hardship and uncertainty, mother and daughter eventually find their way back to Flower Street, their home. The film captures themes of resilience, family bonds, and the struggle to maintain dignity and connection amid the upheaval of wartime.
