The Drought(2011)

The Drought is a quiet character study about Jonas, an aging Brooklyn umbrella vendor facing an impossible choice. As a prolonged drought drains the city of rain, his already struggling livelihood becomes nearly worthless. Jonas must weigh the weight of family tradition against the reality of his dwindling income and the isolation of his empty apartment. His memories offer little comfort as he confronts whether to abandon the trade that has defined him or hold on until the weather—and his luck—finally turns. A meditation on loyalty, aging, and urban solitude.
