Bugs is a science fiction film set in the near future, where a global protein shortage has driven scientists to develop synthetic alternatives. Jams, a brilliant but obsessive geneticist, engineers super bugs designed to produce high-quality protein cheaply. When the insects escape containment and begin devouring the lab staff, they mutate into enormous monsters with an insatiable hunger for flesh. The creatures swarm into the ocean, threatening to unleash catastrophic devastation on humanity. As the engineered organisms spiral beyond control, the consequences of unchecked genetic experimentation become terrifyingly real.
