Devil Ship is a maritime crime thriller following Captain Biff Brown, who loses his lucrative contract ferrying prisoners to Alcatraz after escape tools are discovered aboard his vessel—despite his innocence. Desperate to rebuild his life, Brown returns to tuna fishing and introduces his friend Sanderson to his sweetheart, Madge Harris. Sanderson's immediate attraction to her creates tension between the two men. When a gang led by the ruthless Red Mason bribes Brown's engineer Venatti to stow away on the boat, the criminals seize control during a routine voyage. As the gang attempts to flee the country, a violent storm closes in, trapping everyone aboard in a deadly struggle for survival on the open sea.
