El Freeman is a crime drama following an undocumented immigrant surviving on the margins of Los Angeles. Living in his car and working as a loader, El partners with his friend Arthur in a small-time scheme: they forge duplicate keys to rob their former clients. Their routine operation takes an unexpected turn when one target proves to be a wealthy, isolated elderly ambassador. What begins as a straightforward theft becomes complicated by an unlikely human connection, forcing El to confront the consequences of his choices and the moral ambiguity of survival in a city that offers him few legitimate options.
