Offered for Singles is a Soviet romantic drama about Vera Golubeva, a textile worker living in a hostel who has become an unlikely matchmaker for her friends. Running an informal but surprisingly effective marriage bureau from her hostel room, Vera carefully places wedding announcements across the Soviet Union and pairs lonely hearts with meticulous care. Yet she remains single herself, a perpetual guest at other people's weddings, having abandoned her own dreams of family happiness. When Viktor Petrovich arrives as the hostel's new commandant, he initially clashes with Vera's unconventional operation and threatens to shut it down. But as Viktor comes to know her, he discovers that Vera is the woman he's been searching for all along—forcing both to confront the loneliness they've been hiding behind their daily routines.
