Ramblers 2(2021)

Ramblers 2 is a Japanese drama following three men—director Kinoshita, scriptwriter Tsuboi, and actor Funaki—who travel to their late friend Kaji's hometown to attend his wake. Struggling to process their grief, they spend an evening bar-hopping through unfamiliar izakayas and hostess bars. The next day, Kaji's sister gives them a fan letter addressed to him from a young Korean girl, revealing an unexpected connection that had deeply mattered to the deceased actor. Faced with the impossible task of informing a stranger across the sea about Kaji's death, the three men confront not only their own sorrow but also the mysterious impact one person can have on another's life. The film explores how grief binds people together and how meaning emerges in unexpected places.
