Ratchet(1996)

Ratchet is a psychological thriller about screenwriter Elliot Callahan, who retreats to a beachside house on Nantucket to escape studio pressure and meet a looming deadline. There he encounters Henry Carver, an intense aspiring writer eager to share his screenplay. As Callahan reads Henry's work, he grows convinced it's a confessional account of serial murders—and becomes dangerously tempted to steal the material for his own script.
