Ribbon(2022)

Ribbon is a Japanese drama set during the 2020 pandemic lockdown. Art student Itsuka's graduation exhibition is canceled, forcing her to bring home a year's worth of work. Adrift in frustration, she navigates clashing emotions with her anxious parents, her sister's pandemic paranoia, and her usually steady friend Hirai's mounting stress. When she reconnects with Tanaka, a figure from her artistic past, old tensions resurface. As Itsuka grapples with unresolved feelings for Hirai and confronts her uncertain future, the film captures how personal ambition, family strain, and friendship fracture under collective crisis.
