Rue
22 improv actors perform characters based on regrets submitted by anonymous confessions. All of the characters vying for a promotional opportunity to go back in time. Three contestants will travel back to the moments of their regrets.
Rue is a short film that imagines a world where Clearview Incorporated has cracked backward time travel. The company launches a promotional campaign offering customers the chance to revisit a pivotal moment from their past and find closure. Twenty-one anonymous regrets submitted by real people form the basis of the film, performed and expanded by improvisational actors who embody those desperate to change one defining moment. Rather than a straightforward sci-fi premise, Rue becomes a meditation on memory, regret, and how our past mistakes continue to shape who we are. The film explores whether revisiting our worst decisions could ever truly set us free, or whether some regrets are meant to stay with us.
