Saving Sally is a Filipino animated film about Marty, an aspiring comic-book artist nursing an unspoken crush on Sally, his best friend and brilliant gadget inventor. When Sally's abusive boyfriend and monstrous parents threaten her happiness, Marty finds himself paralyzed by indecision, despite his elaborate fantasies of sweeping in to rescue her. The film blends romance, dark comedy, and surreal animation as Marty wrestles with his own cowardice and the gap between his vivid imagination and his inability to act. Caught between his love for Sally and his fear of losing her friendship, Marty must finally confront what it means to truly stand up for someone you care about.
