The Duck Factory(1984)

The Duck Factory is a 1984 NBC sitcom that marked Jim Carrey's first lead role in a major television production. Created by Allan Burns and produced by MTM Enterprises, the series follows Skip Tarkenton, an optimistic young cartoonist who arrives in Hollywood seeking work at Buddy Winkler Productions, a struggling animation studio. When the company's owner dies unexpectedly, Skip lands a job at the firm—nicknamed "The Duck Factory" after its flagship cartoon, The Dippy Duck Show. The studio is now run by Buddy's ditzy widow, Sheree, who was married to him for just three weeks. Skip works alongside a colorful crew including voice actor Wally Wooster, writer Marty Fenneman, artists Brooks Carmichael and Roland Culp, editor Andrea Lewin, and business manager Aggie Aylesworth. The Duck Factory aired thirteen episodes beginning April 12, 1984, on Thursday nights at 9:30 following Cheers.
