Mr. Terrific(1967)

Mr. Terrific is a 1967 sitcom that aired on CBS for 17 episodes, riding the wave of 1960s camp superhero comedy. Stephen Strimpell stars as Stanley Beamish, a meek gas station attendant who moonlights as a crime-fighter for a secret government bureau in Washington. Armed with experimental power pills that grant superhuman strength and the ability to fly—via furious wingsuit flapping—Stanley transforms into a bumbling hero. The catch: the pills only work on him, last just one hour, and he remains vulnerable to bullets. Much of the show's humor stems from Stanley's powers wearing off mid-mission, leaving him scrambled to complete his assignments. Mr. Terrific premiered alongside NBC's similar Captain Nice, both capitalizing on the era's affection for tongue-in-cheek superhero adventures.
