The Heroine of the Yangs (I)(1998)

The Heroine of the Yangs is a historical drama set during the conflict between the Song and Liao dynasties. When General Yang Liu Lang is captured in a Liao ambush, his son Yang Zongbao ventures to rescue him and meets the fierce warrior Mu Guiying, who becomes his unlikely ally. Their bond deepens into romance, but the Liao strategist Yelü Haonan—rejected by Guiying—plots revenge against the Yang family. As Haonan helps install a new Liao ruler and continues military campaigns against Song, he finds unexpected affection with a Yang servant girl, only to abandon the connection. Meanwhile, Haonan's own nephew, Yelü Zongyuan, discovers his hidden ties to the Yang clan and faces an agonizing choice between loyalty to his adopted family and love for his blood relatives.
