WIOU(1990)

WIOU is an American television drama that aired on CBS in 1990 and 1991, set in the news department of a struggling fictional station. News director Hank Zaret, played by John Shea, navigates the chaos of a perpetually underfunded newsroom alongside executive producer Liz McVay (Mariette Hartley), anchors Neal Frazier and Kelby Robinson (Harris Yulin and Helen Shaver), and reporters including aggressive Eddie Bock (Phil Morris), Ann Hudson (Jayne Brook), and Taylor Young (Kate McNeil). Dick Van Patten rounds out the ensemble as weatherman Floyd Graham, with Wallace Langham as intern Willis Teitelbaum. Despite producing 18 episodes, the series struggled with low ratings; five episodes never aired before cancellation.
