Abolição is a Brazilian historical series that examines how the abolition of slavery reshaped society from rural plantations to urban centers. Set in 1888 as Princess Isabel prepares to sign the Lei Áurea, the narrative captures a nation divided: cities debate freedom while countryside slaveholders cling to their power. The story follows two contrasting figures—Iná Inerã, an enslaved spiritual leader and warrior fighting to preserve African identity, and Lucas, a freed journalist advocating for peaceful racial integration. Through their parallel struggles, Abolição explores the immediate upheaval and long-term transformation that emancipation brought to Black Brazilians and the nation's social fabric.
