Shindig!(1964)

Shindig! is an American musical variety series that aired on ABC from September 1964 to January 1966. Hosted by Los Angeles disc jockey Jimmy O'Neill, the show featured live performances from major recording artists of the era. O'Neill created the series alongside his wife Sharon Sheeley and production executive Art Stolnitz. After ABC initially rejected the original pilot, executive producer David Sontag completely redesigned the concept. A new pilot starring Sam Cooke was shot and aired as the premiere episode. The series became a showcase for rock and roll, pop, and soul talent during the height of the British Invasion and the American music boom of the mid-1960s.
