We Are Family(2019)

We Are Family is a Chinese drama following Yue Yongqiang, a military-minded official newly assigned to the Civil and Religious Affairs Bureau in Yunhai city. Tasked with mediating conflicts between ethnic minorities establishing businesses in the region, Yue clashes with his department over his rigid, old-fashioned approach. The series tackles contemporary social issues including the development of an ethnic food street, the welfare of migrant workers' children, expansion of the Oriental Ethnic Culture Park, and poverty alleviation initiatives on China's frontier. As Yue navigates bureaucratic challenges and cultural tensions, he must learn to balance tradition with modern community needs while bridging divides between newcomers and locals.
