The Liar is a Turkish drama series that remakes the acclaimed British original. After a first date between literature teacher Deniz and respected surgeon Mehmet Emir, the two wake with completely different accounts of what happened. Deniz claims she was assaulted; Mehmet insists the encounter was consensual. One of them is lying. Across ten tightly wound episodes, the series interrogates the desperate hunt for truth, the burden of accusation, and the impossible question of whom to believe. The show became one of Turkey's most gripping and original dramas, avoiding familiar tropes while building relentless tension around conflicting testimonies and the corrosive impact of doubt.
