Tokyo Houchi Shokudo(2021)

Tokyo Houchi Shokudou is a Japanese drama series following Mano Hideko, a former judge who abandons her life in Tokyo to escape the weight of constant judgment. She settles on Oshima, an island 120 kilometers south, where she meets Komiyama Nagisa, a young woman running a family izakaya called Kazemachiya. Hideko begins working at the restaurant, embarking on a quiet second chapter as she encounters a steady stream of customers carrying their own burdens and struggles. Through these everyday encounters over food and drink, she discovers a gentler way to connect with people and find meaning in her new life away from the courtroom.
