Last Friend(2018)

Last Friend is a Chinese series following a group of post-1995 musicians navigating friendship, ambition, and buried secrets. Best friends Qin Yi and Zhong Yi have clashing personalities—one carefree, the other disciplined—that lead to conflict during a singing competition. When Zhong Yi withdraws unexpectedly, the band fractures and the pair drift apart. Years later, Zhong Yi forms a new band with roommates Coco, Yin Long, and the tomboyish Wu Jin, driven by their shared passion for music. During rehearsals, Zhong Yi uncovers a life-altering truth: Qin Yi received a heart transplant years ago, and the donor was Qin Yi's own brother, who died in a car accident. As the revelation threatens to unravel them both, the series explores whether the two friends can overcome this devastating knowledge and reunite onstage.
