Battle Flag(2012)

Battle Flag is a Chinese historical drama set during the 1931 "September 18th" Incident, when Japanese forces invaded Manchuria and the Kuomintang retreated from North China. Senior officer Jin Ge returns to Dong'an City to reunite with his mother and newlywed wife Liu Wenting, only to find the Japanese army has occupied the city. Tragedy strikes when Liu Wenting is forced to take her own life, and Jin Ge is arrested. Communist underground workers intervene to rescue him, recruiting him to the resistance base area. They hope to leverage his military expertise to strengthen their fight against Japanese occupation, setting Jin Ge on a dangerous path between his past loyalties and a new cause.
