On Air Dekinai! is an anime set in 2014 that follows Mafuneko, a 23-year-old assistant director starting her first job at Tokyo Hajikko Television's production department. She quickly learns that behind-the-scenes TV work bears little resemblance to glamorous expectations. Instead, she finds herself tasked with absurd assignments: gathering 300 acorns, creating mosaics from camera lens reflections, and navigating an office filled with eccentric colleagues and constant setbacks. As Mafuneko persists through the chaos and peculiar demands of her workplace, she works toward becoming a full-fledged TV producer.
