IRIBITO –Stranger–(2021)

Iribito –Stranger– follows Takamura Naho, deputy curator of a prestigious private art museum in Tokyo, who inherits both her grandfather's collection and his refined eye for beauty. Her husband Kazuki, a third-generation art gallery owner in Ginza, loves her deeply yet wrestles with envy over her superior talent for spotting exceptional work. Seeking refuge from the capital's intensity, the pregnant Naho relocates to Kyoto, where she feels adrift despite her mother's support. While visiting a local gallery, she discovers a painting of new green leaves by an obscure artist named Shirane Tatsuru and becomes captivated by it. This encounter sets in motion a quiet exploration of art, desire, and the tensions that simmer beneath a marriage built on shared passion but unequal recognition.
