Stagecoach West(1960)

Stagecoach West is an American Western drama series that aired on ABC from October 1960 to June 1961 for thirty-eight episodes. Luke Perry and Simon Kane operate the Timberland Stage Line from the fictional Outpost, Missouri to San Francisco, joined by Simon's fifteen-year-old son Davey. Both men are deputy U.S. marshals with divided Civil War loyalties—Kane fought for the Union while Perry served the Confederacy. Together they navigate stagecoach robberies, murders, harsh weather, and human conflicts across the frontier. The black-and-white hour-long drama aired Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. Eastern, competing against NBC's Thriller and CBS's The Red Skelton Show. Produced by Dick Powell's Four Star Television, the series featured child actor Richard Eyer, who had appeared in 1950s films including Friendly Persuasion and Desperate Hours. Despite strong production values, Stagecoach West was cancelled amid the television Western glut of its era, a fate shared by CBS's Johnny Ringo.
