Young Doctor Malone is an American soap opera created by Irna Phillips that aired on radio and television from 1939 to 1963. The series followed the personal and professional life of a young physician, blending domestic drama with medical storylines typical of the era. Producer Betty Corday, who also created the later hit Days of our Lives, developed the show across multiple platforms. The radio serial debuted on NBC's Blue Network in November 1939 before moving to CBS in 1940, where it ran for two decades as a daily 15-minute program. Initially sponsored by General Foods and Post Cereals, the show later came under Procter & Gamble sponsorship. Young Doctor Malone became a landmark program in American broadcast history, establishing conventions for the soap opera format that would influence daytime television for generations.
