Wannabe is a comedy series following Maxine Clarke, a former member of girl group Variety who never achieved stardom. Now managing the struggling teen pop group Sweet Gyal, Maxine desperately clings to her music industry dreams—until her clients threaten to fire her over her overbearing management and failed record deal attempts. Refusing to accept defeat, Maxine hatches an audacious plan: launching her own comeback act. But this time, she's the star. Mum Pop promises to be bigger, bolder, and decidedly older than anything the music world expects. As Maxine pursues her second chance at fame, she discovers that sometimes the dream you abandoned is worth chasing after all—just not the way you imagined.
