Tales of Tomorrow is an American science fiction anthology series that aired live on ABC from 1951 to 1953. Each episode adapted classic stories and literary works, including Frankenstein with Lon Chaney Jr. and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea featuring Thomas Mitchell as Captain Nemo. The series showcased an impressive roster of talent, including Boris Karloff, Rod Steiger, Leslie Nielsen, and a young Paul Newman. With its episodic structure exploring imaginative sci-fi concepts, Tales of Tomorrow anticipated the format that would later define The Twilight Zone—the two series even shared the story "What You Need." Across eighty-five 30-minute episodes, the show delivered speculative fiction to early television audiences during the medium's formative years.
