Port Charles(1997)

Port Charles is an American daytime drama and spin-off of General Hospital. The series initially centered on the medical school program at Port Charles General Hospital, but gradually shifted toward gothic storytelling featuring forbidden romance, vampires, and supernatural themes. In December 2000, the show abandoned the open-ended writing style typical of daytime soaps and adopted thirteen-week story arcs instead—a structure borrowed from Latin telenovelas. This format allowed the cast and crew to work only six months annually while maintaining narrative momentum and dramatic tension throughout each arc.
