Two Thousand Acres of Sky(2001)

Two Thousand Acres of Sky is a British drama series that aired on BBC Television from 2001 to 2003, later syndicated on PBS in the United States. Created and written by Timothy Prager, the show follows life on the fictional Scottish island of Ronansay, off the coast of Skye. Filmed in the coastal village of Port Logan, the series explores the challenges and relationships of its island community with warmth and authenticity. The show's appeal proved international: in 2008, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation adapted it as Himmelblå, set on the island of Ylvingen in Nordland. That remake became a major success in Scandinavia, drawing 1.2 million Norwegian viewers—57.2% of the national audience—by its second season, and was also broadcast by Swedish and Icelandic public channels.
