National Children is a documentary series that follows the remarkable true story of three thousand southern Chinese orphans relocated to Inner Mongolia's grasslands in 1960 following devastating natural disasters. Adopted by Mongolian families, these children grew up with vastly different destinies across more than five decades. Some became successful entrepreneurs and government officials dedicated to grassland development, while others pursued medicine or faced hardship in finding steady work. Despite their varied paths, all took root in their adopted homeland, honoring both their foster parents and the resilience required to build meaningful lives on the steppes.
