Sushi and Beyond follows Booth, his wife Lissen, and their two children Ansger and Emil on a 100-day culinary journey through Japan. Inspired by Shizuo Tsuji's seminal book Japanese Cooking, A Simple Art, the family embarks on an immersive exploration of Japanese cuisine, sampling regional dishes and food traditions across the country. The series captures their adventures as they discover the depth and diversity of Japanese gastronomy, from street food to refined techniques, while navigating cultural experiences and family moments along the way.
