Dramarama(1983)

Dramarama is a British children's anthology series that aired on ITV from 1983 to 1989, featuring standalone dramas with science fiction and supernatural themes. Created by Anna Home, the show was produced across multiple ITV regional franchises, giving each episode its own cast, crew, and creative team. The series became a crucial testing ground for emerging writers and directors, launching the careers of Anthony Horowitz, Paul Abbott, Kay Mellor, David Tennant, and others. Two episodes proved so successful they spawned their own series: "Dodger, Bonzo And The Rest" became a show centred on a foster home, while "Blackbird Singing In The Dead of Night" developed into Children's Ward. Dramarama represented one of the final projects for veteran producer Dennis Spooner, cementing its place as a vital platform for British television talent during the 1980s.
