Zenigata Heiji is a Japanese television series following an undercover policeman in Edo-period Japan who uses an extraordinary skill with coins as both weapon and calling card. When Heiji identifies a criminal, he hurls coins with lethal precision, simultaneously subduing the offender and revealing his true identity as law enforcement. Like the classic series Abarenbo Shogun, Mito Komon, and Toyama no Kinsan, Zenigata Heiji centers on a disguised official who infiltrates criminal networks to bring wrongdoers to justice. The character was created by novelist Kodō Nomura in 1931 and became a staple of Japanese popular culture, blending action, mystery, and the moral authority of a righteous investigator operating in the shadows of Edo society.
