The Walter Winchell File(1957)

The Walter Winchell File is a crime drama series that aired from 1957 to 1958, dramatizing cases from the New York City Police Department as covered in the New York Daily Mirror. Hosted by legendary columnist and announcer Walter Winchell, the series featured John Larch, George Cisar, Robert Anderson, Robert Brubaker, Dolores Donlon, and Gene Barry—who would go on to star in NBC's Bat Masterson the following year. Thirty-nine episodes were produced in total: the first twenty-six aired on ABC during the 1957–1958 season, with the remaining thirteen entering syndication in 1959. The show drew guest appearances from notable actors including child star Dennis Holmes, who appeared in the 1957 episode "Thou Shalt Not Kill.
