Agreed Not to Cry(2012)

Agreed Not to Cry is a Chinese drama about redemption and second chances. After serving 14 years of an 18-year sentence for assaulting the man who raped his wife, Jian Leng is released early to find his family has moved on without him. His estranged sister Leng Shan and the son he's never met keep their distance. When Leng Shan's friend Yuan Shan, an art gallery owner, separates from her wealthy but passionless husband, Jian Leng finds himself drawn to her. Both carry deep wounds from their pasts—her from a failed marriage, him from years of incarceration and fractured family bonds. As they support each other through their respective struggles, two broken people begin to heal, discovering that connection and understanding can offer a path forward.
