Court Secret Agent(1988)

Court Secret Agent is a Chinese historical drama set during the Ming Dynasty. Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, consumed by paranoia, establishes the Jinyiwei—a feared secret police force tasked with surveilling courtiers and the general population. Four brothers, including the capable Cheng Lixue, are recruited into this shadowy organization. When jealousy drives one brother to turn the others against Lixue, he makes a dangerous choice: betraying the Jinyiwei to protect the loyal minister Xu Da. Rescued from execution by Yufeng, the daughter of a powerful figure, Lixue escapes and joins the Ming Sect. Now determined to uncover the truth behind his wife and children's deaths, he embarks on a quest for vengeance that will test his loyalties and pit him against the very institution he once served.
