The Buccaneers is a period drama following four American heiresses who struggle to gain acceptance in New York's elite circles due to their newfound wealth. Their governess, Laura Testvalley, devises a bold plan: a London season that will introduce the young women to England's aristocracy. The scheme works, and each girl quickly secures a wealthy husband, with the youngest, Nan, marrying the charming Duke of Trevennick. Yet their fairy-tale endings unravel as the women discover that English nobility—and marriage itself—bears little resemblance to their romantic expectations. The series explores ambition, class, and the gap between desire and reality in Gilded Age society.
