The Jewish Council(2024)

The Jewish Council is a historical drama set in 1940s Amsterdam during Nazi occupation. It follows David Cohen, co-chairman of the Jewish Council, and his daughter Virrie as their relationship fractures under impossible circumstances. While Cohen believes collaboration with Nazi authorities offers the best chance of protecting their community, Virrie grows convinced that resistance is the only moral path. Their deepening conflict mirrors the impossible choices facing Jewish leaders during the Holocaust—between pragmatism and principle, survival and dignity. The series explores how occupation and genocide strain even the strongest family bonds, as both father and daughter fight for what they believe will save their people, only to discover that some choices cannot be undone.
