MALICE(2023)

Malice is a Japanese crime series that unfolds when Kozono Yohei, secretary general of Shoto University, is found stabbed to death in his home. Detective Hoshino Naoto arrives at the scene and quickly focuses on Tanimura Kaho, a university lecturer who had been having an affair with the victim. She's arrested, but the case grows murky. Reporter Maruyama Sota receives an anonymous tip about the affair and suspects someone is orchestrating the narrative around the crime. As Maruyama digs deeper, Detective Hoshino grows uneasy with his superiors' rush to judgment. Both men begin to suspect that Kaho has been framed, setting them on a collision course to uncover who truly killed Kozono and why someone wanted her to take the fall.
