João Sem Deus: A Queda de Abadiânia is a three-episode Brazilian series based on true events. Two sisters arrive in the spiritual town of Abadiânia years before the arrest of the infamous healer João de Deus. Their experiences diverge sharply: one sister suffers trauma from abuse within the community, while the other becomes deeply embedded as a devoted employee. When the sisters reunite after years apart, their confrontation becomes the emotional core of the narrative, driving toward a revelation that challenges everything they believed about their time there.
