Mountain Doctor(2024)

Mountain Doctor is a Japanese drama series following Ayumu Miyamoto, a young orthopedic surgeon who returns to his hometown in Nagano Prefecture to work at a general hospital. Reluctant at first, he's assigned to the hospital's mountain medical treatment team, which rescues and treats patients injured or ill in the mountains. These specialists must master both medicine and mountaineering expertise to survive in harsh terrain. As Ayumu works alongside his colleagues, including circulatory physician Gakuto Emori, his initial indifference transforms into genuine commitment. Meanwhile, Gakuto struggles to overcome personal trauma while excelling at his medical duties. The series explores how these doctors find purpose and healing through their dangerous, rewarding work in the mountains.
