Meu Pedacinho de Chão(1971)
Meu Pedacinho de Chão is a Brazilian television series centered on the clash between Colonel Epaminondas, an autocratic landowner, and Pedro Galvão, his rival who donates part of his property to build a church and school. The arrival of teacher Juliana disrupts the village's rigid social order when she captures the attention of Fernando, the colonel's son. While the adults wage their territorial battles, two children—Pituca and Serelepe—forge an unlikely friendship that further antagonizes the authoritarian colonel. The series explores themes of tradition versus progress, personal freedom, and social change in a small rural community. Co-produced by Globo and TV Cultura, the show examines how individual choices ripple through tightly controlled hierarchies and challenge established power structures.
