Banat Hammam is an Egyptian series that reframes the notorious case of Raya and Sakina across two timelines. Rather than the criminal narrative of kidnapping and murder, the show presents an alternative history where the two women were actually resistance fighters working against British occupation. The series challenges the official record by suggesting they were cleared of charges and engaged in nationalist struggle during a pivotal moment in Egypt's fight for independence.
