Teruko & Lui is a Japanese drama series following two women on an unexpected journey of escape and self-discovery. When chanson singer Lui calls her best friend Teruko for help, Teruko hears an echo of her own desperation. Fed up with years of abuse from her husband, Teruko seizes the moment to leave Tokyo with Lui beside her. As they drive away from their old lives, both women carry unspoken secrets that will test their friendship and force them to confront who they really are. Adapted from Inoue Areno's novel, the series explores themes of freedom, resilience, and the bonds between women as they navigate the consequences of their bold decision to start over.
